The motorcycle struck a concrete barrier, ejecting him over the wall where he fell approximately two stories onto the northbound lanes of Interstate 15 below. The injuries from this tragic accident proved immediately fatal, and he was pronounced dead at the scene. He was 53 years old.

In keeping with the family's desire for privacy during their time of grief, funeral services were held with immediate family members only. Arrangements were made through Inspired Life Memorials at Summerlin, and the family established a GoFundMe campaign to help with funeral expenses and travel costs for family members.
